Nothing here to do with
Jeepin'. Just another one of my life's passions.

Growing up, my parents would never let me
own a motorcycle. I distinctly remember getting my first bike
within days of moving out on my own! :o)

Hawk |
I bought the Hawk used and remember
having a lot of problems with it. After deciding that I
loved riding, I traded in the Hawk for a new

Got married in '81 and gave my wife my
car. In '82, left New Orleans for my first Air Force assignment
clear across the country in AZ. I needed a larger
bike!

Sold the Silverwing after a couple of
years and bought a car. A motorcycle as your only means of travel
sucks. But it wasn't long before I just had to get
another bike

Rebel 450 |
The Silverwing spoiled me, with its
fairing, saddle bags, stereo, etc, etc. Some of my friends had
Goldwings. WOW, I really wanted one of those!

Goldwing Aspencade |
I rode my GL for 10 years, then lost
interest in riding. But when gas prices started to rise in the
mid-00's, I thought it would be good to get another bike.
'98 Kawasaki KLR 650 |

 |
 |
Got divorced in '05 and met a wonderful
lady the following year. The KLR was fine riding around solo, but
just wasn't gonna work 2-up. And I really wanted a
Cruiser. A friend of mine owns a motorcycle dealership. Every
time I stopped by to visit, or to get something for the KLR, I drooled
over the Boulevard . . . I just had to have one!
'06 Suzuki C50 Boulevard -- "Naked" |
I considered the C50T, but I really
didn't want a black bike, so I chose the Silver/Gray and dressed it
myself. Within a few months, I added a Mustang seat with driver
backrest, passenger backrest, luggage rack, saddle bags, light bar,
windshield, highway bars, and various other little things. My
girlfriend and I go riding every chance we get!
'06 Suzuki C50 Boulevard -- "Dressed" |
Prior to the Boulevard, the Gold Wing was definitely
my favorite bike. I added all kinds of accessories, mostly bolt-on "bling".
But after getting into Jeeping, my interests in modifying stuff changed from "fashion"
to "function". All of the accessories on the Boulevard are
functional, in my opinion. I installed the Mustang seat with driver's backrest, cuz the factory
seat hurt my butt (and my back) after only 30 minutes of riding. The
Mustang pillion is wider and more comfortable than the factory seat. This,
combined with the the Cobra
passenger backrest and Suzuki passenger floorboards, keeps my girlfriend happy!
And when she's not happy, ain't nobody happy! ;o) The saddle bags carry rain gear, extra
clothing, and whatever. The luggage rack is for taking a picnic lunch, or
just some cold drinks on a hot summer ride. The windshield and lowers smooth out the ride by diverting
the wind, lessening the fatigue on both of us. And the Suzuki Light Bar
and BackOFF Brake Light Signal Module are for better visibility both front and
rear.
Most of the above accessories are simple bolt-on items, but I've
also done a few custom mods:
